What's the difference?
Pennsylvania Manufactured Homes are built on a non- removable steel chassis, required by a national code called the HUD Code. Typically, manufactured homes or "mobile homes" are found in manufactured home communities and parks and have a title.
A manufactured/mobile home is an affordable alternative. Choose the layout that works for you. It's a home you can truly call your own and in most cases, less than renting an apartment.
Modular homes in Pennsylvania do not have a title, but a deed, because it is a home on land that you own. Though both types of homes are built in a climate controlled factory, a modular is shipped to the site on carriers and erected on a foundation by a qualified set crew and is subject to the same building requirements as an "on-site" built home.
